Overall, I learned a lot about women though this blog post. In this blog post, we had two sources. One of our sources was called, " Backlash the undeclared war against American women. " This book talks about the backlash faced by women as their role changed over time. It was really interesting to see how the media tried to undo the change in women role. This source was easy to find, but it was difficult for me to read. Our other source was called, "Balancing Act: Motherhood, Marriage, and Employment Among American Women." This book talks about the progression of the role of women in society.
This blog post was the hardest to write because there was so much information. We covered so many decades and they were very busy and important. Our sources however, were very helpful and insightful about the role of women in America from the 60's to the 90's. Since we had two sources, it was more information and we could confirm and compare our information. One source went into great detail about women's rights movements during the time frame, while the other source talked about women and their role in the house and workforce. Overall, the sources were very easy to understand, very interesting, and was a great ending to our blog.
-Simran Our source was called "Women in American History: A Social, Political, and Cultural Encyclopedia." It had information from all time periods, so we only read our time's information. It talked about women's role in the Great Depression and WW2. It was really interesting to see how women excersised their rights. It was easy to read and understand. I enjoyed reading about this time period.
This time we researched American Women in the time period 1930-1950. During this time was the Great Depression and World War 2, so there was a lot of information to learn, read, and write about. Our source was called "Women in American History: A Social, Political, and Cultural Encyclopedia." It had information from all time periods, so we only read our time's information. I think the source was very well-written and easy to understand. It separated the role of women socially, economically, and politically by each time period so it was easy to find and use information. Overall, I really enjoyed reading this source and this time period itself was so interesting to read about!
-Simran Our scholarly source was called "What American Women did." I enjoyed reading about the role of women in American society during the early nineteenth century. I thought it was interesting how women suffrage movements finally started to make big changes, such as women receiving the right to vote. This source was very descriptive which made it easier to understand. Overall, I really like this source, because it had easy language, was descriptive, and compared this time period to others, so the readers could see the changes throughout time.
Our scholarly source is a book called What American Women did. Like our last scholarly source, this source was easy to understand, but explained the roles of women during the 1920s. It also talked about women in the education system, economy, society, and politics. This time period was very interesting to talk about especially because we see how women become more carefree. This source was easy to find.
Overall I enjoyed reading the stores. It was very informative and had a lot of information to provide about every aspect of the role of women in American society in the 19 century. It went into great detail about how the role of women impacted others and how others impacted the role of women in society. We did have some technical difficulties about blog post. Our whole post got deleted and we had to rewrite the whole blog post, so we apologize if there's any information missing. Despite that, this was my favorite research time period for our topic.
Our scholarly source is a book called A History of Women in America. Compared to our last scholarly source, this source was easy to understand and explained the roles of women from different ethnic groups during the 1900s. It talks about how immigrants, African American, upper and lower class women fit into the United States society. Overall, it was very interesting to read that African Americans had a higher chance, than white women, of getting a job outside the house. It didn't take us that long to find our source. We actually had to rewrite our blog post because the website somehow erased everything we wrote, which was very sad.For our research post this time, we used a book called "The Role of Women in the 18th Century." This article focused on the roles of 18th century american women in politics, religion, education, and economics. I think this article was very easy to understand. Each chapter talked about a different aspect of the lives of women. It was very easy to gather information to use for our research post. I really enjoyed this article. The author went into great detail about the role in that aspect and why this change occurred. I also liked how the author compared it to the previous roles of women. Overall, this article was well written and easy to read and understand.
-Simran Our article was called "Working Women in the 17th Century." I really liked this source. It was very easy to understand and it went into great detail about the role of women socially and politically. I liked how it also mentioned how the women had an impact on others in society and how important they were in the family life. We did not have a hard time finding this source. It was easy to find this source, which we chose because of its detail about every aspect of a woman's role in society. It fit the prompt of our blog very well. Overall, I really enjoyed reading this source.
